Digital sovereignty has become a strategic priority for Europe. Regulatory developments, geopolitical tensions and the growing dependence on non-European technologies and infrastructures are prompting organisations to rethink how data and critical workloads are managed. The digital talk “European Sovereign Cloud: navigating opportunities and challenges”, organised by European Digital Tech Watch in collaboration with the Cloud Ecosystem & Sovereignty and Data Center Observatories, will explore the role of sovereign cloud in strengthening Europe’s strategic autonomy and competitiveness.
Experts will discuss European policies for cloud sovereignty, as well as the current and potential capacity of the European data centre market, and the positioning and the sovereignty models offered by European cloud providers. The event will be enriched by a keynote speech by the Secretary General of EUDCA (European Data Centre Association), who will provide the industry perspective on sovereignty, and a discussion among companies that have implemented digital sovereignty projects, which will shed light on the drivers, benefits and challenges of adopting sovereign cloud and infrastructure solutions.
